Launch of the yourHRC.org 2019 Election Guide

The Permanent Mission of Iceland and Universal Rights Group NYC have co-organized a breakfast launch event.

During the event, the head of the Universal Rights Group-New York Office, Danica Damplo, will present objective data on all 16 candidate States standing for election to the Human Rights Council for the three-year term 2020-2022. The analysis of each candidature is based on the criteria for election and membership set down in General Assembly resolution 60/251.

The 2019 Election Guide, copies of which will be made available at the event, provides a general overview of the 2019 Council elections (scheduled for 16 October at the GA in New York), and then offers a detailed and objective assessment of all candidate States from all regional groups. That information is in-turn based on an even more detailed analysis, of every candidate and every country that has ever been a member of the Council, which can be found at the www.yourHRC.org web portal.
