Engaging the UN human rights system in driving progress towards a mine-free world: HRC55 side event

Ahead of International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action (4 April), and on behalf of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Croatia to the United Nations in Geneva, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations in Geneva, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Mozambique to the United Nations in Geneva the Geneva International Center for Humanitarian Demining, the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, as well as the Universal Rights Group, it is our pleasure to invite you to the side-event on ‘Engaging the UN human rights system in driving progress towards a mine-free world’, to be held in the margins of the 55th regular session of the UN Human Rights Council.

The side-event will take place on Thursday 28th March at 12:00 pm in Room XXII, Palais des Nations. This HRC side-event aims to stress the necessity of kickstarting joint action at the Council to address the human rights impacts of landmines and explosive remnants of war, within the longer-term goal of engaging the wider human rights system in increased action to drive progress towards a mine-free world through a rights-based policy and rights-informed action on landmines.
