Annual retreat for new Members of the Human Rights Council

On Friday 7th February the Permanent Missions of the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, with the support of the Universal Rights Group, will organise an informal half-day retreat for new Member States of the Human Rights Council.

The annual ‘new members retreat’, now in its fifth year, aims to provide a space for an informal, cross-regional expert-level exchange to: share information and views on key developments at the Council in 2019 and expected developments in 2020; share experiences, tips and lessons learnt between outgoing and incoming members; hear from the Council Presidency about key dates and priorities; and share information and views on important initiatives likely to be on the Council’s agenda in 2020.

The meeting will be held under the Chatham House rule.
