The Glion Human Rights Dialogue 2025 (Glion XI)
UN Women, the Permanent Missions of the People’s Republic of China, the Kingdom of Morocco, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates, Morocco’s Inter-Ministerial Delegation for Human Rights, and the Universal Rights Group, will organise the eleventh Glion Human Rights Dialogue (Glion XI), under the theme: ‘Beijing at 30: mobilising the UN human rights system to accelerate progress towards gender equality and the full enjoyment of women’s and girls’ rights.’
The Glion XI retreat will take place from Thursday 16 to Friday 17 October 2025, at the Hotel Victoria in Glion, Switzerland.
The Glion Human Rights Dialogue is a high-level annual retreat that brings together around seventy participants from all UN regions, including diplomats, capital-based human rights experts, senior UN officials, independent experts, and civil society representatives. Held under the Chatham House Rule, the Dialogue fosters open, forward-looking, and solutions-oriented reflection and exchange.
Ahead of the retreat, UN Women, the Permanent Missions of the People’s Republic of China, the Kingdom of Morocco, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates, Morocco’s Inter-Ministerial Delegation for Human Rights, the Universal Rights Group, organised/will organise a series of three preparatory policy dialogues, together with traditional Glion partners – Mexico and Thailand (in the case of the first policy dialogue). These pre-Glion dialogues aim to allow for a wide participation of States and other stakeholders in the Glion process, allow all to share their perspectives and views, and ensure that these inform the discussions during the Glion retreat.
