Pre-Glion VI policy dialogue with the Permanent Mission of Botswana on ‘Towards 2026: Perspectives on the future of the Human Rights Council’

Ahead of Glion VI, the Universal Rights Group (URG), with a number of supportive State delegations in Geneva, will organise a series of informal policy dialogues, designed to allow early consideration and exchange on different aspects of ‘Towards 2026: Perspectives on the future of the Human Rights Council’.

On Thursday 2nd May 2019, the Permanent Mission of Botswana and the URG will host a Policy Dialogue on ‘The contribution of the Human Rights Council to the General Assembly’s 2021-2026 review of the Council’s status’. The event will bring together around 40 senior level human rights experts to exchange views on a number of issues including, ‘the status of human rights within the UN’, ‘timing and basis for the review’ and ‘potential HRC contributions’.
